Imagine you were a sailor hundreds of years ago...
And like Chrisopher Columbus, you wanted to sail across the ocean from Europe to America.
How would you get there?
You can’t draw a map of the sea. It all looks the same.
You can’t rely on GPS, only the compass was around.
And you can’t really see where you’re going, because the trip would take months.
So, back in those days, the only real way you could get anywhere safely, and on time, was by being able to navigate with the stars...
You’d wait for the stars to come out, and then you’d look for the North Star (Polaris).
And that’s what humans did for centuries…
If you wanted to travel a long distance, you’d need to read the stars and use the North Star as your guide.
But those that didn’t know how to read the stars - often got themselves and their crew lost. Or worse - they got shipwrecked.
And it’s the same today.
If you want to go somewhere...
If you want to have something...
If you want to be someone...
You need to use the North Star as your guide.

Asia is the largest of all continents, covering an area of 44,579,000 square kilometres, that's 30% of the Earth's total land area.
It has given rise to many of the world's first civilizations, and has long been home to the majority of the human population.
But have you ever wondered what actually counts as Asia? Where exactly are the borders?
Do they sit nicely in between countries, or can a country be divided?
This video is part three of a three part series. We cover the specific Asian borders between Northeast Asia and North America.
In particular: Chukotka, Siberia, Alaska, Wrangel Island, Bering Strait, Bering Land Bridge, Diomede Islands, Russian Empire, the US purchase of Alaska from Russia, state boundaries or continental boundaries affecting the indigenous inuit people, St.Lawrence Island, St. Matthew Island, Pribilof Islands, Kamchatka, Aleutian Islands, Amatignak Island, Semisopchnoi Island, Commander Islands, state 180th meridian line (antimeridian), the International Date Line, the greenhouse effect and global warming.

In between, we go over Japan's Bonin (Ogasawara) Islands, the Malay Archipelago, Indonesia's border with Papua New Guinea, the Wallace Line, the Weber Line, Asian continental shelf, the Middle East, Yemen's Socotra Archipelago, Afro-Eurasia, Egypt's border, and more.
